Between the Stars

I am the darkness
between the stars


I am not as it is 
with the true light
I cannot be seen
with the eyes 
of the body
only the eyes
of the mind.


It is odd, is it not
that light cannot be 
perceived
until it is 
reflected
interacting
with some substance
with the matter at hand


Angle of incidence
equals
Angle of reflection


With what shall you reflect
the darkness?
My Darkness.


an electron
absorbs a photon
jumps the band gap
to a higher orbit
falls back
to the ground state
releasing a photon
is the photon emitted
the same one?


Photons 
having zero rest mass
exist only in motion


so photons 
on striking your retina
die
giving up their lives
they bring you information
so you may know the world


electrons, 
to photons
to electrons 
to knowledge.


It is all information. You see?

creates
that which creates
forms
that which forms
becomes

lives
that which lives
dies
